THE BLUENOSE CUP The Bluenose Cup is a spirited inter-club Ryder Cup style golf event featuring 16 amateur golfers and 2 professional golfers from the Ken-Wo Golf Club playing against its counterparts from the Oakfield Golf and Country Club. The event has been running since 2002 and rotates between Ken-Wo and Oakfield every year. This event first began as The Bluenose Challenge, with the winner receiving the Sarty Cup. In 2008, the event was changed to The Bluenose Cup with the permission of Sarty Siding Owner and Trophy donator, Fred Hutchinson. The Bluenose Cup matches feature one round of Alternate Shot matches, one round of Best Ball Matches, and a final round of Singles matches. The event kicks off on the Friday evening with a Meet ‘n Greet between the members of each team. On Saturday the participants will play two matches (Alternate Shot, Best Ball) followed by a semi-formal dinner and reception. On Sunday the two teams will play the Singles matches. At the completion of the matches, the Bluenose Cup, donated by Sarty Siding, will be presented to the winning club. Oakfield Currently holds a 5-3 advantage over Ken-Wo. Below you will find the history of the matches, personal records, Captains and Venues:
I would also like to give a big thank you to those who have kept this prestigious event running over the past 7 years. There are many people that have contributed over the years but these are just a few integral people that without them, the tournament wouldn’t be going.
