President's Message

Welcome to the 2011 golfing season. The course wintered well thanks to preparation last fall by Rick Phelan and his crew. The Ken-Wo Senior Men's Organization (KSMO) is open to all male members age 55 and over and we have a very active year planned. Generally, Wednesday is Senior Men's day.

Our opening golf event was held May 4th, 18 holes, followed by a dinner and a short semi annual meeting. We had 61 golfers and 63 for dinner. Our match committee has been very busy putting together the schedule for the year. There are numerous competitions to be held as well as casual play days. The pro shop staff will conduct 2 clinics one on long game and one on short game. We will again be having the Home and Home with Osprey Ridge, and hope to bring back the Culliton Cup.

The Senior Men's Club Championship will be held Aug 8 th and 9th. This event is open to all male members of the club, age 55 and over and has become one of the premier events at Ken-Wo.

Our Executive Committee consists of the following individuals, Andre Gautier – Valley Seniors, Bob Douglas – Match, Dave Leslie – Secretary/Treasurer, Frank Spriggs – Promotions/Public Relations, Peter Oomen & Earl Maxwell – Members at Large.

If you are a male member age 55 or over, you are very welcome to join for a small fee. " Good golfing, fun and camaraderie every Wednesday". Once you have paid your entrance fee you sign up on the bulletin board outside the washrooms on the main level. The match committee will look after fitting you into a group.
